Version: CVS (using KDE KDE 3.3.2)
Installed from: Compiled From Sources

Photos can be added out of order depending on gallery settings.

from bug 88262 comment #16 http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=88262#c16

The gallery protocol allows a provision where you can override this property and specify where the images are to be added for an album.

Yes I agree.

I actually want to maintain knowledge of the fact that an image is in gallery in order to maintain a "sync" capability - e.g. if I cange the image I can re-upload it etc.

If this is the case, it will be known that an Album is remotely sync'ed to a Gallery and changing the sort order in Digikam could theoretically trigger a re-ordering of the gallery remotely. (well it couldn't trigger it as such, but it could propigate the order on the next sync).

I think this would be the ultimate method of interfacing with Gallery.

GalleryExport tool is not maintained since a while and Gallery project is dead.
Use PiwigoExport tool instead.
