Description Wizard Vandal 2004-11-12 05:41:31 UTC
Version: (using KDE KDE 3.3.1)
Installed from: Debian testing/unstable Packages

I mount floppy with desktop shortcut to device /dev/fd0.
Opens konqueror window to do all i want with contents of floppy. I do... :-)
I copy files from another konq window to floppy's window. Then I close both of windows and I can not umount floppy (even by root). lsof +D /dev/fd0 say nothing...
Maybe some hidden process locks device...
Only when i exit KDE i can umount my floppy...

Same with locking CDs (without writing).

KDE 3.3.1
Debian sid/unstable/testing

If I open floppy/cd/flash in one tab, and my home in another, it may help to umount, but not always...

Comment 2 Wizard Vandal 2005-01-18 06:14:50 UTC
If I open floppy/cd/flash in one tab, and my home dir in another, and then close whole konqueror window "at once", it may help to umount, but not always...

Well, I found, that for me it happens only when using "konqueror preload".
If in shitch-off, then all ok.
Comment 4 Dominik Haumann 2005-11-13 21:10:24 UTC
Same for USB sticks.
Workaround: Turn off preloaded instances or execute `killall konqueror`.

This bug isn't reproducable in all cases, as it may be that there are already preloaded konquis, so in this case everything works as supposed.
