Description Paul Curry 2004-11-02 04:00:45 UTC
Version: unknown (using KDE 3.3.1, compiled sources)
Compiler: gcc version 3.3.4
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.4.27

This happens every time. Hit (Left) Alt+Tab, cycle to your selection, release---the window focus instantly switches with the release of Alt. Now do it with the (Right) Alt+Tab. When Alt is eventually released the selection menu does not disappear. You have to hit Tab to make it disappear. This is annoying and inconsistent. There should be no difference in behavior. It should always work like the (Left) Alt+Tab combo, or there should be a really easy way to make it like that.

This is a bug in the X server - the keyboard map doesn't list right Alt as a modifer in 'xmodmap', but according to 'xev' the modifier state is set after it's pressed.

Well, I found this bug <http://freedesktop.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=1405> at x.org, but no one seems to be paying any attention to it. How does this get fixed?

I don't know how, but definitely not here, sorry.
