Description Danny Brain 2004-10-15 16:05:24 UTC
Version: (using KDE KDE 3.3.1)
Installed from: Gentoo Packages
OS: Linux

Konqueror/Kuickshow and many if not all other KDE applications sort files a way I feel is incorrect.
Basically:

image-1.jpg
image-10.jpg
image-100.jpg
image-11.jpg
image-2.jpg
image-20.jpg
image-200.jpg
image-21.jpg
image-3.jpg

And so on..
It becomes really annoying while searching for a numbered image when they are placed in this strange order, and even more annoying when using Kuickshow to view a slide show of images and having image 100 coming after 10.

If possible I'd like at least an option to enable proper numeric file sorting (1-2,10-11, not 1-10,10-100).

Thanks :)

The "Sort by version" option should figure in the menu "View -> Sort", exactly like the "Descending" option.

I think this option is very useful, I use it very often with "ls -v" !

I came to bugs.kde.org to file this same request, but found it already here. +1!
