Maybe related to Bug 67797? I had similar problems with my hamburg.de account. A work-around for me was to disable the "Server requires authentication" setting. Christian I think it has to do with a sasl-library which has to be installed. But maybe a core developer can confirm this? I don't thing it's related to 67797 because kmail doesn't try to authenticate at all, because the autenthication (he says) is not compiled into kio_smtp. Anyway, the server requires authentication, so I can't disable it, but also, if it didn't, my kmail crashes trying to open the settings window... Could you check if you have cyrus-sasl installed and if the kdebase configure has detected it? If not could you install that and rebuild kdebase and try again? Please let us know. Ok, cyrus-sasl wasn't installed and now I installed it. But I've got a new error: "An error occured during authentication: SASL(-4): no mechanism avaible: No worthy mechs found". |
