Description Tom Gufler 2004-08-17 20:10:39 UTC
Version: Unbekannt (using KDE 3.3.0, Gentoo)
Compiler: gcc version 3.3.4 20040623 (Gentoo Linux 3.3.4-r1, ssp-3.3.2-2, pie-8.7.6)
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.8-gentoo

I have activated the "show mounted device on desktop" option for my DVD-Drive. The expected behaviour is that an icon appears on the desktop when I mount a disc. However nothing happens.
My /etc/fstab entry for the DVD-Writer:
/dev/hdc /media/cdrw_dvdrw auto noauto,user,exec,dev,suid,ro 0 0

This entry was created by HAL (hal.freedesktop.org), but I also tried to use the mountwacher without HAL (manual fstab entry) which didn't work either

I am also having this same problem but have found that running
dcop kded mountwatcher reloadExclusionLists
does make the icon appear on the desktop (or change its state if the unmounted is displayed). This only started when I updraded to 3.3.1

I have been investigating this issue (on my SuSe8.2/KDE3.3.1)
It seems to be related to my .gnupg folder. If I remove it it starts to work.
I don't know if this is the same for Tom.

I recently updated (from sources to the latest GnuPG) if that helps
