Version:           3.2.91 (using KDE 3.2.91 (3.3 beta1), Gentoo)
Compiler:          gcc version 3.3.3 20040412 (Gentoo Linux 3.3.3-r6, ssp-3.3.2-2, pie-8.7.6)
OS:                Linux (i686) release 2.4.24-xfs-r5

trying to download anything from konqueror, I'm offered to save the file,
when I confirm, kget starts with spinning hourglass, but after some seconds,
vanished, nothing downloaded.

I just updated kde to 3.3beta2 - problem still persists.
I also tried kget directly from the commandline with a real URL to download from. here I get this:

*** KGet got signal 11
ERROR: Communication problem with kget, it probably crashed.

btw., I also created a fresh user account to ensure this doesn't come from some messed up settings in ~.kde - same result.
