Version: (using KDE Devel)
Installed from: Compiled sources

ICQ Pro features the ability to add AIM users to your contact list.

Why not? I added all three of my AIM accounts, which were currently online with Kopete.

They all showed up as offline though, which was quite strange. I reconnected with Kopete to be sure, but in ICQ all three still appeared offline. I signed on one account with the official AIM while still connected with Kopete. I could immediately see him online in ICQ. I disconnected with the official AIM, leaving only Kopete/AIM online. I could still see him online in ICQ. I then reconnected with ICQ, and could NOT see him online from ICQ anymore.

So it seems the official AIM is doing something we're missing during sign-on.

give me tcpdump traces between kopete and official AIM, and i might fix it. Otherwise I will do nothing as I don't really care about this feature...

It's all the same bug

I doubt tcpdump traces between the two machines will yield anything useful, as it would seem Kopete/AIM is not doing something in the communication with the server that regular AIM is...

And regardless of your crappy attitude here or whether or not you happen to be the one who ends up fixing it, the problem still exists - just because _you_ don't care does not mean other people don't care. I obviously do care, because I wasted my own time entering this bug report _by your request_. So stop being so rude, please.

How am I going to fix this otherwise? If we're not sending something that the
official AIM client is sending, how am I going to figure out what we're not
sending w/o looking at tcpdumps of what the other clients sends?
