Description Nir Dremer 2004-07-07 13:28:49 UTC
Version: (using KDE KDE 3.2.3)
Installed from: Gentoo Packages
Compiler: gcc (GCC) 3.3.3
OS: Linux

Konsole is redrawing itself even when there's no reason to.
for example:
if tab key is pressed and there's nothing to complete - konsole will still redraw itself.
pressing tab without stopping will make the screen redraw all the time while the problem standing on the "Display all XXX possibilities? (y or n)" without moving.

i tried to isolate the problem.
- removed all .bashrc / .bashrc / profile files - problem continues.
- tried to reproduce with eterm / xterm /... - didnt have the problem.

A strange solution i've found is openning another tab with something different (not shell or linux console) and while it's open all tabs will not redraw themselfs unnecessarily (tested with screen / ssh ....)

thanks

Can't reproduce here.

Do you have "Visible bell" checked? (Settings->Bell)
Comment 2 Nir Dremer 2004-07-11 08:29:58 UTC
i dont have visible bell
my configuration:
- bell: system bell.
- font: normal.
- keyboard: xfree 4.x.x
- schema - custom + translucency
- all the tags in configure konsole are untagged (though tried default settings).

anything else that can help?

This should be fixed at least in KDE 3.5.4 (Konsole 1.6.4).
