Description Dmitri Drozdov 2004-04-29 18:04:53 UTC
Version: 1.6.2 (using KDE KDE 3.2.1)
Installed from: Unlisted Binary Package
OS: Linux

If I input any string in Russian in search form (available from Service --> Find_messages menu) there are no messages founded, even though some messages have search string undoubtedly. If I search any English text the result is true.

Some additional information:
1) This effect is not depends on Russian locale for CP1251 and KOI8R locales.
2) It seems to me, that the same effect reveal itself in the official Mandrake 10 distribution.
3) Messages are keeped in maildir format.

Same as 79860? Does it work in the subject?
Comment 2 Dmitri Drozdov 2004-06-19 12:59:59 UTC
In my opinion those are the same problem. And it's reproduced in KMail 1.6.4 from KDE 3.2.3.

It's very important for the not-Latin-written community to fix this bug as soon as possible. Probably, any non-Latin texts can't be find in the message body, so usability is poor. And we can see now 42 votes.

Yes. Search works in a subject of the messages.
