Description jonas boesch 2004-04-24 21:21:03 UTC
Version: (using KDE KDE 3.2.2)
Installed from: Debian testing/unstable Packages
OS: Linux

I detached a Konqueror Tab and moved it to another Desktop. Then i wanted to save a file from a link on the site. i clicked on it and konq seemed frozen ( didn't react to input and the likes ). Only by accident i discovered that on the virtual Desktop where Konqueror was before detaching and moving, the standard "save as, open in kwrite.." dialog was opened. This dialog blocked all user input to the original konq window.
After selecting save as, the save dialog appeared on the virtual desktop of the detached konq window...
....quite confusing.

Please provide exact steps how to reproduce the problem, and your Qt version.
Comment 2 jonas boesch 2004-04-27 15:18:31 UTC
1. Open Konqueror with multiple tabs on virtual desktop #1.
2. Detach a Konq-tab and move it to virtual desktop #2.
3. Click on a download link in the webpage in the detached konqueror
-> the open/save as../.. opens on desktop #1, but without a hint on the current desktop ( #2 ), except for Konqueror blocking any input to the window because of the dialog on the other desktop.
4. change to desktop #1, click on save as...
-> the open/save as... - dialog vanishes, but the dialog asking for the filename appears on desktop #2.

I'm using the debian unstable qt, which is currently version 3.2.3
( packagename libqt3c102-mt )

Comment 4 Lubos Lunak 2004-04-28 11:02:09 UTC
I cannot reproduce the problem with KDE_3_2_BRANCH even with Qt3.2.3. Please attach 'xprop' and 'xwininfo' output for all the relevant windows.

Nevermind, I can reproduce it now.
