Well, this tab actually uses libvorbisfile for the writing, so it seems odd that it would find this to be a buggy encoder. ;-) What version of libogg/libvorbis/libvorbisfile do you have installed there? Well, perhaps I have a locale problem or something.

Can you try to see if you get the same behavior with other tools (other than KDE) -- i.e. vorbiscomment?
