Another thing: I have tried cleaning out my KDE user files (~/.kde), but that hasn't helped. The bug still exists in KDE 3.2.2. I have also noticed this problem in Kate and KBear, but the freezes are less frequent and they don't last as long in these apps as they do in Konqueror. AFAIK there is no way to predict when the freezes will happen. *** Bug 77618 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** I still experience this problem in KDE 3.3.1. I have set the "Minimise Memory Usage" option in the Control Centre to Never (before it was "For File Browsing Only"). Since then, some of the freezes have affected all Konqueror windows, while others have been restricted to the window I was working on at the time. Other file browsers, like Krusader, are unaffected. When a window is frozen, window display updates cease. If I obscure the window with another window, its contents are not restored after I remove the obstruction. I am left with a blank window. I should make an amendment to what I said earlier. Sometimes all Konqueror windows are affected by the freezing, but other times the problem is localised to the Konqeror window in focus. KParts loaded in the Konqueror window, like KGhostView, are also affected. Hello, is this still an issue? I haven't seen this problem in quite a while. I think it disappeared during the KDE 3.4/3.5 series. Thanks, I'll close this bug. |
