the settings from View->Tool Views are not remembered here.
In my case I turn off the embedded konsole and find-utility, but when I reopen kate, they reappear.

You are supposed to search for similar issues prior to reporting ;)

hm I did that... but apparently not well enough...

Unfortunately I just marked it as a copy. But it should be at partly fixed in 
HEAD, and the fix will be in kde 3.2.2 as well -- the full fix, even :)
