Description S. Burmeister 2004-02-12 00:26:13 UTC
Version: (using KDE KDE 3.2.0)
Installed from: SuSE RPMs
OS: Linux

When searching for messages that have the status <unread> or <new> I do also get messages that are already marked as read. They do also stay in the search folder, even if kontact is restarted.

How can I trace the reason for this bug? I tried to delete all my mail, but even then with just "fresh" mail, the bug reappears.

Do you use a non-English version of KMail. We suspect that there is a bug in
the status searching related to the i18n of the status names. Can you check
if it works correctly in English, please?

Yes I do, German translation to be precise. Indeed the bug does not
appear when switching to American English. Very annoying that.

Still the read emails remain in the search folder after restarting
kontact, in fact they remain until I perform a new search. Shall I enter
a new bug for that, if there is not yet one?

This bug then needs to get altered, in order to inidicate that this
issue is connected to the translations.

Fixed for KDE 3.2.1. That the result of the last search is preserved is a feature. Though we are not sure whether only searches that the user explicitely saved or also the last search should be preserved.
