Description David Chester 2004-02-08 23:03:38 UTC
Version: (using KDE KDE 3.2.0)
Installed from: Unlisted Binary Package
OS: Linux

Closing a dialog in OpenOffice creates a double-image of the window for about a second while the window is closing. This does not happen--there is no double-image, and there is no one-second lag--when KDE is started with KDEWM=openbox or KDEWM=metacity.

Here's an example of what I mean by "double-image":

This has been happening for me in HEAD at least since November or December 2003. Before about the beginning of January, there was a slight difference: the window was redrawn, offset down and to the right (as it is now), but the window decoration was not drawn for that offset window.

This is hardly noticeable on a faster machine, but with a a 700MHz Celeron, an old sis card and 128 MB of ram, this looks and feels very slow, where OOo with another WM on the same machine performs as well as could be expected.
