Created attachment 4554 [details] Konqueror X Mozilla comparation The stylesheet for this page defines precise fonts sizes for each block. 8pt. 8pt in widgets is also buggy, but in a different way (already reported). http://avi.alkalay.net/linux/docs/HighQuality/HighQuality.html for reference. Mozilla is using the correct font sizes. Created attachment 4555 [details] FC_DEBUG=1 konqueror http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=74460 The monospace fonts are also looking bigger. Look how the text looks squeezed and ugly.
you don't happen to have zoomed the text, don't you? Especially your #5 makes me believe that Created attachment 4559 [details]
Konqueror X Mozilla comparation without stylesheets
Another comparation, now with a no-CSS page.
Created attachment 4560 [details]
My Mozilla settings
This is my Mozilla settings. Mozilla uses pixels instead of points.
11px == 8pt
No zooming. I selected Default Font Size one hundred times to be sure. I cloned your settings and everything is tiny now. Beside that: grep 8pt HighQuality.html docbook.css gives no hit. The font-size for body says 11px here and that's what I get. Created attachment 4561 [details]
Kate with Bitstream Vera Sans 8pt
OK. 11px should be 8pt.... But anyway it is wrong. Does "egrep 'MinimumFontSize|MediumFontSize' ~/.kde/share/config/*" give anything? Created attachment 4562 [details]
Not exactly related: kate font list appear to be strange
Maybe it is related, maybe not. But this is something strange I just saw.
I allways used Lucida Sans Typewriter 8pt for code display. Now in Kate
fontselect window this font is buggy (as you can see). What Lucida Sans
Typewriter 8pt was, is now LucidaTypewriter 8pt, right bellow (as you can see
listed). This font is completelly new for me. I never saw it before, but in
some way it is an alias to my old Lucida Sans Typewriter.
$ egrep 'MinimumFontSize|MediumFontSize' ~/.kde/share/config/* /home/aviram/.kde/share/config/konquerorrc:MediumFontSize=8 /home/aviram/.kde/share/config/konquerorrc:MinimumFontSize=6 As what I have in my Konqueror settings. I've already looked at that before OK. I removed a java-fonts package I installed some days ago. It looks like it had a config with Lucida Sans Typewriter. Quit KDE. init 3. service xfs stop. init 5. KDE login again. The Lucida Sans Typewriter disapeared and now I only have LucidaTypewriter. Konqueror problem persists, so it was not related to this java-fonts package I installed days ago. Created attachment 4563 [details] Font height are wrongly calculated Look to the "Back To BUG# 74460" string. See how the underline is over the next line text. Actually, the next line is bad positioned. The same for the title "Changes submitted...." yes, that happens when the fonts are higher than the layout expected it. But that happens only under two conditions: a) you zoom [known bug] and b) your font system is broken in a way or another. But b) would show in more than konqueror and your FC_DEBUG output hints that Qt was actually requesting already the wrong font. So I'm out of idea what's causing that for you, I can only say it works for me. Please also check http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=73500 Upgraded to www.kde.org 3.2 RPMs for Fedora Core 1. The problem remains. This compilation looks a bit faster. Trolltech Issue N42618 |
