Description Tom Gilligan 2004-02-03 09:59:24 UTC
Version:            (using KDE Devel)
Installed from:    Compiled sources
Compiler:          gcc 3.3.1
OS:          Linux

Toggle items in menus currently are sunken grey X's. A lot of KDE apps would look a LOT nicer with check boxes in the menu or radio buttons if appropriate. There is the same sort of problem with toggles in lists as used for example in the Noatun configuration dialog.
I am going to attach some screenshots of current appearance and mockups of how much better it would look. :-)

Notice the black boxes, this same style of checkbox-in-list is used in other
apps as well.

Here is a mock up of something that looks a bit better.
And yes, I did make a mistake, checkboxes in menus do change with styles, its
just that many styles that a based on Keramik haven't been bothered changing
this. One style that does do this well is .NET. And yes, I realize that this
is a very minor thing that I shouldn't be posting attachments for. ;-)

Qt: 4.5.1 (qt-copy  958974)
KDE: 4.2.71 (KDE 4.2.71 (KDE 4.3 >= 20090428))
kdelibs svn rev. 960693 / kdebase svn rev. 960693
on ArchLinux i686 - Kernel 2.6.29.1

Both Plastique(Plastik@Qt4) and Oxygen use proper widgets for the checkbox/optionbutton in the menus. (You can check it in Kate Tools menu)
