Description Hasso Tepper 2004-01-31 12:33:05 UTC
Version: 0.8.0 (using KDE 3.2.0 RC1, compiled sources)
Compiler: gcc version 3.3.3 20040110 (prerelease) (Debian)
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.4.24

Irc plugin defaults to UTF-8. When someone tells in channel something using umlauts in latin1, Kopete doesn't show message but error:

An internal Kopete error occurred while parsing a message:
XML document could not be parsed!

Btw, I couldn't find the way to change codepage. Is there the way at all? It is must be for irc IMHO. There are even channels in irc where users using UTF-8 will be banned.

You have to change the text codec for the chanel you are in to whatever the people are using.

Right click on the channel contact, or use the IRC menu in the chat window.
