I would like to suggest the implementation of one function that search in a given directory (or directories) for .desktop files and show them for selection. The directory sould be set by the user (because there are diferent locations where we can find those files).
I'm suggesting this, because it's nice to have all the applications in the menu, even more when we don't need to set it manually.
