i get this with kopete 0.8beta1, version 0.7.93. 
i had no other version installed, so there are no libs arround in my system. 
i created a test user, with a clean ~/.kde dir, so that's not the problem as well.

self compiled 

PS: i know this is a test version, but i used this:

./configure --prefix=/opt/kde3 --disable-warnings --disable-debug --enable-debug=no
