smime signed mails that crash KMail 3.1.4

Description fahrendorf 2003-11-21 07:29:25 UTC
Version: 1.5.4 (using KDE 3.1.4)
Installed from: compiled sources
Compiler: gcc version 3.2 (Mandrake Linux 9.0 3.2-1mdk)
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.4.19-16mdk

recently I received mails from one sender, which crasches kmail reproducable. current kmail (cvs from 2003-11-20) is affected too. The mail uses smime signature (which seems to be brocken). Mozilla shows the signature as attachment but not as valid signature.

sorry, but I can't read the previously added attachment. Therefore I added it
again not zipped.

I too have a couple of (smime?) signed mails which reproducibly do crash KMail
3.1.4 for me.

I've added a ZIP with 3 such mails.

The problem still stays. I have now kmail from last weekend (2004-05-02). It seems to be a problem with smime encrypted Mails from apple mail software. without the smime plugin enabled, the mail can be read fine.

None of the four messages crashes the current development version of KMail which will be part of KDE 3.3, so I guess we can safely consider this fixed. Please reopen if you still encounter this bug with KDE 3.3 or one of the betas. Thanks for taking the time to report this.
