Version: gideon cvs kdevelop20030727 (using KDE KDE 3.1.1a)
Installed from: RedHat RPMs
Compiler: gcc 3.2
OS: Linux

I do not understand what the "editing command" dialog is supposed to do. There is no help button, the dialog caption is just "gideon", there is no tooltip or any indication of what this dialog is supposed to do.

I tried to type "hello", "ls", "*" ... Not even a simple error message ! All the command I have typed have disappeared in /dev/null - From a user point of view, I have felt it very frustrating. I just can't understand what this dialog wants to mean.

What's more, the "Clear button" on it looks completely useless, since after having typed the command the dialog dissappears, and the last command does not reappear after. It should have used at least the "cross" button like in the konqueror url line (KDE consistency).

I suggest to either redesign this dialog, or to remove it.

This is for vi(m) users. Vi has editing commands (like s/foo/bar/), so kate part has
them too. Editing command will appear only if you use kate as a preferred editor.
So nothing can be done in KDevelop. If you want help button or so - fill a wishlist
for product "kate" component "part". Btw, help for editing command is available at
help:/kate/edit-command.html.
