Description Richard Neill 2003-06-28 00:36:08 UTC
Version: (using KDE KDE 3.1)
Installed from: Mandrake RPMs
OS: Linux

Typing "man bash" at an Xterm gives nicely coloured output.

Doing so in Konsole does not. It would be nice to have an option in the configure konsole menu to enable this.

In my xterm, there are no colours in man's output.

It would seem that xterm is colourising attributes like bold or underline. Could that
be the case?
Comment 2 Stephan Kulow 2003-06-28 11:23:06 UTC
that would be nonsense. Then xterm wouldn't be standard conform. My
man in xterm isn't colourful either.
Comment 3 Stephan Kulow 2003-06-28 11:30:09 UTC
asked a MDK using developer - there is no colour in xterm either.
Comment 4 Richard Neill 2003-06-30 02:08:52 UTC
Xterm does indeed colorise the bold/underlines. This is true in both Mandrake
and Redhat (at least, on my systems, as per default installs). I agree that it's
not "standard", but it might be a nice option to add. That's really all I wanted
to request.
