Description Steffen Moeller 2003-06-25 14:16:36 UTC
Version: (using KDE KDE 3.1.2)
OS: Linux

My desktop has many open shells. In the ALT-TAB selection box theseall look the same. However, I know different activities to happen in each that also look very different. If you could show the current image of that window while it is selected in the ALT-TAB box then this would be very helpful for selecting the right one.
A static image would be sufficient, although seeing a thumbnail of the real window with all its dynamics would be much nicer.

Sorry, this is a wish, not a bug.

Sorry, but that's not technically possible. KWin has no way to get contents of a non-visible (or
partially obscured) windows. And even if it had, it would be quite expensive I'm afraid.

I'll reconsider this later. But I think this would be like all those faked transparency hacks - nice
eyecandy, but having a lot of small annoying issues.

The new implementation for 3.3 shows at least for every window the icon along with the window title in a list.

If this is sufficient for you, please close this issue.
