Description Yves Glodt 2003-06-06 01:19:28 UTC
Version:            (using KDE KDE 3.1.2)
Installed from:    Unlisted Binary Package
OS:          Linux

Do like this:

- start KEdit
- open a file or not
- do "File->Save As" and select an existing file

KEdit overwrites the file you chose without warning. (KWrite and Kate do issue a warning)

p.s.
this is a grave bug...
<rant>
... and it shows that KEdit is not being used by many people (otherwise this bug would have been discovered _before_ KDE 3.1.2...), and thus should be removed as soon as KWrite has all it's missing features.

in CVS you get a warning... can't backport due to it using a new user visible (and
therefore translatable) string.
