Version: 1.5 (using KDE KDE 3.1)
Installed from: Mandrake RPMs
Compiler: gcc 3.2.2
OS: Linux

It feels a bit unfinished that KMail crashes when permissions of the ~/Mail disable KMail reading and writing.
This happened the first time i started KMail on my fresh mdk9.1. I su'ed to root an copied my ~/Mail from my backup to my new ~. Permissions where changed and cauzed KMail to crash. A small pop-up that blinks a splitsecond before the crash indicated that it could read.
chmod -r .... fixed it. Still this is a crash that can easily be coded out...

Now first i should learn some more C/C++...
...till that time i file bugs.

Probably a duplicate of bug #56278
Comment 2 Ingo Klöcker 2003-03-27 18:48:44 UTC
Yes, it's basically a duplicate, i. e. in both cases the crash is caused by problems with ~/Mail.
