Description Michael Klemm 2003-03-04 15:03:51 UTC
Version: (using KDE KDE 3.1)
Installed from: SuSE RPMs
OS: Linux

The size of icons of applications shown in the system tray seems to be hardcoded in some cpp-file.

It would be a nice feature to have the possibility to resize those icons as needed (e.g. make them smaller so that they can be located in to rows).

This is indeed weird looking and adds a great deal of inconsistency to the
desktop. The system tray is basically my 'ugly duckling' as it just doesn't
fit in well with kicker with it's inconsistent icons. Cheers for makeing the
system tray rather well integrated though (it's very convienient and useful)
but this is still getting my vote for improvement ...

Why is this fixed? The system tray is still incredibly ugly. There is something wrong with how it shows some icons (kopete, kgpg among others) IT seems to take a 16x16 icon and blow it up till it's nice and fuzzy. Also is does not resize. What's the point of having kicker size on small if system tray icons run off the edge? Please, please, please fix this one and for all? It's been the same way for years! Let's make them all 16x16 at least and maybe have a way to change icons since some of these are ugggglllyyy (what's with the amarok small icon???)
Sorry for the whinning :) Thanks!
Joshua
