Replaced michael.wardle@adacel.com with null@kde.org due to bounces by reporter I have thought for a while that this would be a good feature. For instance, if I right click on a file called "core.5716" in konqueror, I get some generic info that says "Program Crash Data". However, when I use the "file" command, I get this: "core.5716: ELF 32-bit LSB core file Intel 80386, version 1 (SYSV), SVR4-style, SVR4-style, from 'rpm'" This is much more useful, IMHO. I agree. A button to calculate the file's MD5 sum (or, if the file is very small, just do it automatically) would be useful, too. More info is available in "Meta Info" tab in the Properties window, though it's not currently selectable/copyable (see Bug #105692). Seems like no feedback from KDE devs on this one so far, though. (Again, MD5 sum might be nice, for example. In the meantime, I suppose it could be kluged via an Action that launches a shell script that runs md5sum and in turn launches a kdialog.) Thanks! All reports about file management mode reported against KDE 3 (konqueror) has been closed: konqueror in KDE 3 is no more developed and mantained. All bugs and wishes which could be interesting for Dolphin in KDE 4 (the new KDE file manager) has been collected into a specific list. Please try the new file manager before request new features and report bugs. Before submitting new reports check carefully the already opened KDE/Dolphin reports in order not to add duplicates. Many thanks. |
