Description David A. Early 2002-12-18 09:16:39 UTC
Version: CVS (2002-12-18) (using KDE KDE 3.0.99)
Installed from: Compiled From Sources
Compiler: GNU gcc 3.2.1
OS: Linux

Users sending me messages see this:

*** Error while sending IM: Rate limit to client reached - this user may be on a mobile device.

I saw nothing unusual, but everyone sending me messages (Trillian users and AOL's AIM client were both seeing the same message) got this error with what seemed like every other message sent. When this popped up, I would not see their message.

Talking to the same users on ICQ was fine. I saw nothing unusual in the debug output.

The problem seemed to start less than a week ago. (I keep current with CVS about every three nights)

I'm not sure if this is the same bug, but I get an over the rate limit when trying to log on to AIM quite often. Even if I haven't been on all day the first time I try to get on I'll usually get that message. ICQ logs on fine for me also.
