Description xVariable 2002-12-09 01:45:15 UTC
Version: (using KDE KDE 3.0.3)
Installed from: I Don't Know
OS: Linux

1) Status Bar & its Icons: It would be nice to make it possible to optionally hide the icons in the Status Bar or even hide the Status Bar altogether. Doing either or both of these would free-up what many see as useless space taken by the UI. Those Status Icons provide functionality that can be found at in at least two other places in the UI. Given that, why not make it possible to display either or both for simplicity or to free desktop space if the user so wishes?

2) The ability to optionally hide, via a user setting in the preferences, the Menu Bar (where File, Settings and Help are located.) This would be nice in order to free-up UI space (the funnctions provided there can be found in the systray right-click),and would be a feature greatly appreciated by the minimalists.

3) The ability to optionally hide the "Contacts" bar in the Contact List. Same reasons as #2.

1) and 2) committed to CVS
3) I did not do...
I am not sure if it is wise to hide a ListView's header? or if its even possible... (i tried
header()->hide(); but it seemed to have no effect) If this is still a wishlist, please reopen in a
separate wishlist bug.

Cheers,
  James
