(*** This bug was imported into bugs.kde.org ***)

Package: konsole
Version: 1.1.3 (using KDE 3.0.3 )
Severity: wishlist
Installed from:
Compiler: gcc version 3.2 (Red Hat Linux Rawhide 3.2-1)
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.4.18-3smp
OS/Compiler notes:

first I turned off the menu bar since it occupies precious screen area. next I pressed M-C-m since some menu choices are actually useful. :-) unfortunately the menu bar did not go away after I was done using the menu. I could do M-C-m Right Right Right m to get rid of it but that's rather awkward.

Unfortunately I found at that time no reliable way do detect all ways when
a menu entry was activated or selection was aborted with keyboard or mouse.

So if nobody finds a solution this is a "Won't fix".

I don't think my new suggestion merits creating a new bug, so I'm commenting with this
bug, as it's the closest I've found.

This keystroke should really be mentioned in the Konsole handbook (ideally near the
menu option to remove it) for those of us who've overlooked the feature to restore the
menubar on the right-click context menu in the console window.

Sheepishly,

Mischa.

in the bar and in the settings menu and in the config file, and it still wont go
away. whats C-M-m anyhow? ctrlMm? err

You can pick a shortcut for 'Show menubar' in "Configure Shortcuts"
There is no default shortcut.
