(*** This bug was imported into bugs.kde.org ***)

Package: kghostview
Version: 0.13.1 (using KDE 3.0.1 )
Severity: normal
Installed from: Mandrake RPMs
Compiler: gcc version 2.96 20000731 (Mandrake Linux 8.2 2.96-0.76mdk)
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.4.18-6mdk
OS/Compiler notes:

Hi

I've seen other similiar bug reports about this. The last one I read was closed with the promise to fix it for KDE3. I'm using KDE 3.0.1 and still have the following problem:

kghostview displays a landscape pdf file in portrait without the ability to change its orientation (if you try this the text also rotates together with the page orientation: still a cutoff text).
When I try 'gs -sDEVICE=x11 myfile.pdf' the page gets displayed correctly. The version of gs I am using is 6.53.

My guess is that kghostview tries to compensate for a bug in earlier versions of gs. Is this correct? How soon can you provide a solution?

Thanks

Z.
