(*** This bug was imported into bugs.kde.org ***)

Package: kmail
Version: 1.3.9 (using KDE 2.9.0 2 (3.0 beta2))
Severity: wishlist
Installed from: compiled sources
Compiler: gcc version 2.95.3 20010315 (release)
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.4.17XP
OS/Compiler notes:

It would be nice to be able to select in the message list all messages that the search dialog found. So if I want e.g. to delete or mark as read all messages that match some condition I could just search for them and maybe hit some "select" button in the dialog and then perform some action to all messages that were found.
This would be similar to a mail filter but for a one-time manual use without the need to create an extra filter select all messages apply the filter and delete it again.

This is exactly what search folders do. They have since been implemented.
