Description kdebugs 2001-12-15 01:49:02 UTC
(*** This bug was imported into bugs.kde.org ***)

Package: kmail
Version: KDE 2.2.2
Severity: wishlist
Installed from: RedHat RPMs
Compiler: Not Specified
OS: Linux
OS/Compiler notes: Not Specified

Say I have two identities defined in KMail:

(default) A B <a@b.com>
(second) X Y <x@y.com>

If I get an email addressed to X Y <x@y.com> when I reply KMail puts my default
identity (that is a@b.com) into the From field.

I think the correct behaviour would be to correctly select x@y.com (based on
the email address only thus if I get email to X <x@y.com> or just x@y.com it still
selects my second identity).

On the other hand if I recieve a message addressed to m@n.com and I do not have
that as a KMail identity it should use the default one on reply. A good feature would be
to have an option that will allow to enable a warning message in such a case (I would
definitelly take advantage of the warning box but some may consider that too intruding).
