Package: kcontrol
Version: KDE 2.2.2
Severity: wishlist
Installed from: Debian Packages
Compiler: Not Specified
OS: Linux
OS/Compiler notes: Not Specified

This is actually to do with the Notification manager but there doesn't seem to be an option for that so K-Control is the next best thing :-?

I have a very long shutdown sound (ORAC the computer from Blakes-7 saying "I am closing down I have much to do you have wasted my processing on your petty affairs for far too long!") It usually only gets to "I am closin..." and occasionally to 'down' before shutdown (unless there are crashed processes to clean up then it usually finishes :-).

Two possible solutions:

1) Have the shutdown manager check for a playing shutdown sound and politely wait.

2) Have a notifcation that a sound can be attached to for the user hitting the logout button (ie when the screen dims prior to affirming logout).

I prefer the latter and it is probably easier to do but the former would probably be nice too.

Cheers Glenalec
