Description kdebugs.kapush 2014-12-17 01:06:34 UTC
The option to disable email indexing has been removed from baloo configuration module as explained http://vhanda.in/blog/2014/04/desktop-search-configuration/

Please bring it back, as I explained in the forums baloo indexing my emails is getting in my way by suggesting a lot of useless addresses, see https://forum.kde.org/viewtopic.php?f=215&t=124003&p=326054

Having no options to tune baloo to prevent it from building an insane data set, I would like to turn off email indexing, but at the same time I'd like to keep the file indexing which I am happy with.

With the option removed from the configuration module I now have to rely on a dirty hack to prevent baloo from building its email contacts index.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Go to desktop search control module
2. look for the checkbox to disable indexing of emails / emails contacts

Actual Results:
Unable to find the checkbox, it has been removed.

Expected Results:
Find the checkbox that used to be there when nepomuk was responsible for desktop search.

Assigning this bug to PIM. The Baloo KCM is called "File Search" in Plasma5.
