When trying to connect to a hidden network (WEP secured), I tried using the system tray icon by entering the SSID of the network, and after that clicking enter submits the SSID but eventually nothing happens!
Tried restarting the system and updating but it doesn't work.
Tried using the Control Module to manually add the hidden network, the network was successfully added to the list (the first time I've done this it worked until the computer got to suspend mode - can't tell precisely what happened) with a name of "New Wireless Network". Waited a while for the PC to connect but it was stuck on authentication step (restarted the router didn't work :-/ ), tried editing the network but it just didn't open the edit dialog (edit button did nothing!).

As a walkaround I used the terminal to add the hidden network (command: iwconfig wlan0 essid "SSID") and it was added to the list in the system tray and that's how I got it working.

Which Plasma NM version do you use? You can see the version string in "Manage Connections" -> Other.
