Description bert.de.beer 2012-09-25 19:09:11 UTC
Environment:
   OpenSUSE 12.2
   Gnome 3.4.2
   Linux kernel version 3.4.6-2.10-default
   KWiFimanager 3.5.10 (Using KDE 3.5.10 "release64" openSUSE )

Bug Description:
KWiFimanger changed the owner and group of the file /home/username/.ICEauthority to root root, with the result that during the next time the user tries to log on to the system, he receives the message: "Could not update ICEauthority file /home/username/.ICEauthority" and the user is unable to logon.

This change of owner and group of the .ICEauthority file occured when in KWiFimanger: Settings is selected, followed by the configuration editor, and followed by entering the root password (required for this action).

A temporary solution to correct the damage is: to logon as root in a terminal screen and change owner and group of the file back to the correct user and group and reboot the system.
