Hello, I just can't lock the screen in KDE 4.8.2 plasma-netbook.
When I click on Lock screen option, simply nothing happens.
The screen also fails to be locked from Powerdevil for actions that should lock it according to powerdevil configuration.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Right click on the desktop and click on "Lock Screen".
2. Nothing happens.
Actual Results:
2. Nothing happens.

Expected Results:
The screen should be locked, protected by user password.

I cannot reproduce this in 4.8.3 and .4, although I could at some point in 4.7.4. It may have been fixed in 4.8.3. Could you check this? There has been quite some tinkering in powermanagement during the 4.8 series, so it is possible. Also, do you experience this only in plasma-netbook, or also in plasma-desktop?

unfortunately i can reproduce it under 4.8.4 (debian 4.8.4-4 - wheezy).
A quick workaround run dbus manually:
qdbus org.kde.screensaver /ScreenSaver org.freedesktop.ScreenSaver.Lock
or
/usr/lib/kde4/libexec/kscreenlocker --forcelock

I found an other solution:

screen locking has been rewritten in 4.10. This renders this bug as unmaintained.
