This is a fresh install of Kubuntu 11.10 on an Asus AMD 64 bit dual processor system. System installs fine , then I get a list of updates. The update process stalls partway through. This is the second time this happened. I let the first try sit all night but it didn't move. I reformatted the disk (400G) and tried again. It stalled again. I forced a shutdown and now the package manager won't run. It says it is already running even immediately after a restart. I can see no evidence of anything running. On the first attempted install I ran the update immediately after the install. This time I instaled Firefox first. Hope you have an answer. Thank you for your work, Ben Thanks Thanks *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 292423 *** |
