I don't remember when this started happening, but in all current distros I try (with KDE 4.7), I can reproduce it:
In kdm, when you open the remote login dialog (via ctrl+r or menu), the second you try to move the mouse or input anything on the dialog, it disappears and goes back to the local login dialog.

This completely breaks the usage of KDM for starting remote logins.

Dialog should work correctly and allow XDCMP logins.
