Description Simon Blandford 2011-07-21 08:00:47 UTC
Version: unspecified (using KDE 4.6.2)
OS: Linux

I have a passphrase-protected SSH key which I use to access a remote server via SFTP.

When I edit files using, say, Kate over SFTP, I have to type the passphrase. KWallet does not ask to store it unless I press cancel in which case it offers to store it if I type it as the user password.

If I try to change directory, save the file after a few minutes I am re-challenged for the passphrase. This gets very tedious.

Occationally, I can't save the file. I then have to Save As, go up a directory and back down before I am able to over-write the original file.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1) Set up passphrase protected SSH key access to remote server

2) Edit file(s) on remote server using, say, Kate via SFTP.

Actual Results:
Passphrase is re-requested over and over. Sometimes (I think after some session time-out) it is impossible to save over same file without going up a directory and down again.

Expected Results:
KWallet/KDE should remember session and not keep re-challenging user.

OS: Linux (x86_64) release 2.6.38-10-generic
Compiler: cc
