Version:           4.6 (using KDE 4.6.1) 
OS:                Linux

Using double click on title bar maximizes xterm as does the square button to the right next to the X box. A subsequent double click OR poking the square button fails to restore the size of the xterm.

to workaround the general "issue" with xterm (effectively restore <4.6 behaviour) see comment #3 in bug #265568
