Description Riccardo Iaconelli 2011-01-27 11:01:24 UTC
Version: 2.0.89 (using KDE 4.6.0)
OS: Linux

I have a password with spaces in GMail, this has always used to work, with any client I tried, including kmail 1.
With the new backend, when I try to log in, the server answers "too many arguments".
I don't know if it's a GMail-only thing, or happens with every IMAP

The combination to trigger this seems to be:
  - SSL+Clear text auth
  - IMAP
  - Password with spaces

Googling a bit it seems like KMail should enclse the password in quotes, so that the server doesn't see it as a list of arguments.

This effectively prevents me from getting my emails.

Reproducible: Didn't try

OS: Linux (x86_64) release 2.6.35.10-74.fc14.x86_64
Compiler: gcc
