In the help (krusader_user-interface.po; user-interface.docbook:334):
This panel shows the contents of one directory which can be local (part of your mounted file systems, either a native file or the files inside an archive) or remote files -->> (accessed via &FTP; or Samba) <<--.

My hypothesis:
Krusader supports even NFS Internet protocol. But it is mentioned only FTP a Samba in the documentation.
