Description fatgerman 2010-12-16 17:37:06 UTC
Version: unspecified (using KDE 4.5.85)
OS: Linux

When I insert a USB drive (either hard drive or flash drive) the New Device Notifier shows me two icons for each partition. Each partition also shows up twice in the systemsettings module for removeable devices.

Usually I can only mount using one of the two icons. However one of my external partitions, labelled 'BigBackup' I have configured to 'Automount at Login', and this one actually seems to get mounted twice - I get /media/BigBackup and /media/BigBackup_ and both are accessible.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
Log in, attach USB drive, look at what New Device Notifier shows you.

This is probably because you are running both HAL and udisks. I think it is fixed recently, but I cannot find the duplicate right now.

My packages are from the kubuntu beta PPA, so installed on top of an existing Kubuntu 10.10 installation so what you say makes a lot of sense.
