Hmm, Google translate doesn't work so well :-) I'll try find English sources for the rules and update asap.

Hi John

I've already attached the updated Holidays rule file on this bug report. Please see attachment 53116 [details] . You only need to include the updated file with the one I've modified. It has been checked against the proper government official documents

I am also the author of the previous Argentine holidays rule files included with KDE. (see my old bug 150203 and bug 172289 )

Sorry, I mean: "You only need to replace the file with the one I've updated"

Thanks

Ah, sorry, didn't see it there, reading too fast :-) I'll add it now and backport to 4.5. Those new "Feriado TurĂstico" holidays, are they just until 2013, or do they run on further? If they have complex rules for moving dates I may be able to write a formula for them.

The new law (Decree 1584/2010 - Art. 3) says that the president can decide 2 extra holidays per year to put in between a weekend and a normal holiday. For example if a normal holiday is on Tuesday, the president can say that on Monday there will be a holiday also (to promote tourist activities). Also if a normal holiday is on Thursday, the president can establish a new holiday on Friday.

It also says that those extra holidays (Feriados TurĂsticos) must be established at least 50 days before end of year every 3 years.

On another (Decree 1585/2010) those extra holidays were defined for the years 2011-2013

The text of the law (in Spanish) is available from: http://www.lanacion.com.ar/anexos/informe/08/53008.pdf

Oh, meant to say: Thanks!

I guess we'll just have to remember to update the file every few years.

Thank you!

Do not worry, next president will probably change all these laws again :-P
