There is a stop button in the file menu, also it is bound to 's'. Anyhow, a setting does not make sense for the highlighted use cases instead the following should happen: - detect credits (expensive to do unfortunately) - discard profiles after n days Latter seems most reasonable given that it is easier to do and probably catches other cases that do not involve credits.
