The statusbar is already too crowded and this would slow konq down a bit. -- David FAURE david@mandrakesoft.com faure@kde.org http://perso.mandrakesoft.com/~david/ http://www.konqueror.org/ KDE Making The Future of Computing Available Today On Wednesday 26 December 2001 13:18 Stephan Kulow wrote: > Processing commands for control@bugs.kde.org: > > > reopen 24143 > Bug#24143: konqueror to display free disk space > Bug reopened originator not changed. And why do you think it has been closed ? Konqueror does display the free disk space in the properties dialog. I will NOT add this to the statusbar it would slow Konqueror down for nothing in 99% of the cases. Please let me close a wishlist if I don't think it will be implemented. -- David FAURE david@mandrakesoft.com faure@kde.org http://people.mandrakesoft.com/~david http://www.konqueror.org KDE 3.0: Konquering the Desktops Can someone say why it will slow it down? doing "df /somedir" seems very fast... I'm guessing that you are thinking of when you have devices like floppy disks or something? Perhaps the freespace could be shown only for hard disks? The more KDE advances, the more this is needed. I agree it is not needed. there is work being done on some sidebar's for konqi, and some of them provide this functionallity - and I think that's where it belongs. Sorry, but this is one of the most useful information that can sit on the status bar of a filemanager... if you think status bar is too crowded, than other things should go away first (i.e. who cares about how many of the items are directory?) It is being shown in gnome 2.8 file manager... |
